Weight Loss New Jersey will get you the weight loss results you desire!

You may think that you are not obese so you don’t need to worry about losing a few pounds. Well, let me tell you even just being overweight can lead to major health risks like heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, sleep apnea, arthritis, increased blood sugar levels leading to insulin resistance and many more diseases and conditions which are all preventable.

Many things such as willpower, education and of course the right weight loss plan all help, but this isn’t always enough.

Perhaps you have even gone down to your local bariatrics specialist to look into getting surgical procedures to finally lose the weight. You know, things like gastric bypass surgery or the gastric lap band.

You have to ask yourself, do you really want to get your stomach stapled? Do you have any idea just how risky this surgery is and the number of complications that arise from this highly invasive surgery every year?

So how about liposuction? Is that a safe alternative? Unfortunately, even using liposuction to get rid of stubborn cellulite has its risks.

Personally, I think it is in your best interest to make sure you have explored all the non-surgical ways to lose weight before you decide to go for surgery. Let’s face it, there are many ways to melt those inches from around your hips but some can be just as dangerous as having surgery.

Things like weight loss pills, medication and the ever popular, starvation diets. It seems like so many people become obsessed with losing weight and begin to develop eating disorders such as anorexia or bulimia. These disorders aren’t something to take lightly since if left untreated may, and often does lead to death. See what I mean when I said some weight loss strategies can be just as dangerous as surgery?

The good news is, there are alternatives to those dangerous prescription pills and over the counter weight loss solutions. The even better news is the fact that these alternative methods are proven to work, and, it all starts with education.

Now I am not saying you need to rush out and read some long boring book on the mechanics of weight loss. You don’t even need to know your body mass index (BMI) or even need to know a ton about fat, calories, protein, carbohydrates or any other complicated information about how our body works.

However, there is definitely some basic and simple information on how our body processes food, especially sugar, that will open your eyes on how to finally lose weight and keep it off for the rest of your life. That my friends is what Weight Loss New Jersey is all about.

For your information we have also included a directory of local New Jersey weight loss providers in the form of gym’s, weight loss centers, doctors, even people who can provide hypnosis for weight loss. This means that no matter what New Jersey zip code you may be from, you have options.

My whole life I have been one of those guys that always had a little bit of a stomach. You know, I don’t think I ever had a nice six-pack abs or anything like that. Luckily, my stomach wasn’t too big throughout my teenage years but when I went to college and adopted the typical college life (i.e. drinking and sleeping in) well, let’s just say things started to expand. Although, I personally think I just shrunk my pants!

Even once I graduated, I still continued the cycle of gaining weight by being inactive and having a poor diet. Don’t get me wrong, throughout the years I tried to go on a diet or work off the fat but I was never able to stick with it. It got to the point where I didn’t even want to try anymore since I knew I was just going to revert back to my old ways.

So there I was getting fatter and fatter and as you would expect I was starting to become lazier and lazier. I would get winded just trying to tie my shoes and I simply felt like garbage all the time.

The funny thing is a few months ago, while I was lazing around the house, I started thinking about all the things I want to do in my life. You know, I am approaching 30 and I have the strong desire to start traveling and seeing the world. I was making plans to go skydiving in Cape Town or drink some wine in Italy and all of a sudden it hit me like a lightening bolt from the sky.

How could I possibly enjoy all the years I have left in my life if I can’t even get my lazy butt off the couch?

I was never going to be able to enjoy traveling when I felt so horrible inside and out. It was at that moment that I decided it was time to change my lifestyle for good!

I made a few shifts in my eating habits and started being more active and what do you know, the weight started dropping off. In about 6 weeks, I went from weighing 210 pounds (I am only 5’10″ so that is quite a bit) to being just under 190 pounds. Not only was I proud of myself for losing 20 pounds in such a short time but I felt better, I had more energy and a ton more self-confidence.

Now I am at the point where I can realistically plan my trip to South Africa without having to worry about my lack of energy or fitness level. I can’t tell you how exciting and how great this feels.

This is actually why I created Weight Loss New Jersey! I wanted to provide some inspiration, support and knowledge so all of you can take back your lives and start to feel better about yourself. Congratulations for making it this far and the best of luck with your new and improved lifestyle.

Don’t you just love how our government completely ignores companies and organizations that flat out lie on television? This same very government then turns around and cracks down on somebody trying to promote an all natural product.

Like everything else in life it seems like money talks, right? You just get the right politician in your pocket and you can pretty much go and tell the general public whatever you feel like.

Well my friends, at Weight Loss New Jersey I don’t think there is a bigger lie than the stories you have heard on TV about High Fructose Corn Syrup, also known as HFCS.

Get this! The commercial will actually go on to tell you that it is just like natural sugar because it is made from corn.

Let’s just pretend for a moment that HFCS was just like sugar. How in the world is this a positive thing? Sugar is killing people each and every day. You think they would come up with a better comparison but it just goes to show how bad High Fructose Corn Syrup really is.

Believe it or not they will then go on to tell you that it is natural. You have got to be kidding me, right! You would honestly be shocked if you knew the chemical process that corn syrup has to go through in order to give you HFCS. Let’s just say you would need to have a PhD in chemistry to even begin to understand it all.

The worst thing about all of this is the fact that there are a ton of different foods and beverages that contains this “natural”, deadly poison. You might be surprised to find out which of your favorite foods is a killer in disguise. Do you know what the second ingredient in Coke is, right behind carbonated water? Yep, you guessed it, High Fructose Corn Syrup! So you are not a big Coke fan? Well, how about yogurt? Cereal? Sports drinks? Believe it or not, even many whole wheat breads have HFCS. I am telling you this stuff is everywhere and then we wonder why we are so fat.

This is why it is so important to read the ingredients of everything that you buy. I recommend trying to cut out as many of these harmful chemicals out of your diet as you possibly can.

Check out the video below which will explain all of the dangers associated with High Fructose Corn Syrup. I recommend checking it out

Below is a great video on how to find High Fructose Corn Syrup in your foods, I highly recommend checking it out.

Let’s Make Sure Weight Loss New Jersey and You are On the Same Page

Sometimes it can get confusing when we talk about being fat, overweight or obese. We are going to attempt clearing everything up with this handy little post on Defining Overweight and Obesity.

In order to make sure we all understand these terms, I went directly to the Federal Government. Here is how the US Government defines overweight and obesity.

Defining Overweight and Obesity

Overweight and obesity are both labels for ranges of weight that are greater than what is generally considered healthy for a given height. The terms also identify ranges of weight that have been shown to increase the likelihood of certain diseases and other health problems.

Definitions for Adults

For adults, overweight and obesity ranges are determined by using weight and height to calculate a number called the “body mass index” (BMI). BMI is used because, for most people, it correlates with their amount of body fat.

An adult who has a BMI between 25 and 29.9 is considered overweight.

An adult who has a BMI of 30 or higher is considered obese.

See the following table for an example.

Height

Weight Range

BMI

Considered

5′ 9″

124 lbs or less

Below 18.5

Underweight

125 lbs to 168 lbs

18.5 to 24.9

Healthy weight

169 lbs to 202 lbs

25.0 to 29.9

Overweight

203 lbs or more

30 or higher

Obese

It is important to remember that although BMI correlates with the amount of body fat, BMI does not directly measure body fat. As a result, some people, such as athletes, may have a BMI that identifies them as overweight even though they do not have excess body fat. For more information about BMI, visit Body Mass Index.

Other methods of estimating body fat and body fat distribution include measurements of skinfold thickness and waist circumference, calculation of waist-to-hip circumference ratios, and techniques such as ultrasound, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Definitions for Children and Teens

For children and teens, BMI ranges above a normal weight have different labels (overweight and obese). Additionally, BMI ranges for children and teens are defined so that they take into account normal differences in body fat between boys and girls and differences in body fat at various ages. For more information about BMI for children and teens (also called BMI-for-age), visit BMI for Children and Teens.
